May 20th, Bike Registration Fee Bill Withdrawn

 

Please be advised that Ordinance Cal. No. 27,907, which was introduced on March 11, 2010 by former Cmbr. Carter (by request), will be withdrawn at the May 20th City Council meeting by Cmbr. Kristin Gisleson Palmer. The ordinance would have amended fees and procedures for bicycle registration.

May 11th, Bicycle Registration Fee Petition

Our petition voicing our concerns about the Bicycle Registration Fee hike has received over 370 signatures and was recently covered by Alex Woodward with the Gambit  Read the story and sign the petition!

 

May 22nd, 2010 Bicycle Second Line

 

WHAT: 2010 Bicycle Second-Line
WHO: Featuring the Crescent City Stompers

WHEN: Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 formation at 10:00am; departure at 10:30am

WHERE: Commencement and after-party at Audubon Park at the Magazine Street entrance
WHY: To show cycling enthusiasm for New Orleans, and learn about cycling improvements in the city

WITH: New Orleans EMS and the National Safety Council hosting a Bicycle Rodeo starting at 8am.  The first 50 families to either join or renew MBC will receive free helmets for their children.

 

 

Saturday November 21st & Sunday November 22nd

 

The first NOLA Bike Bash! Presented by the New Orleans Bicycle Coalition, this is an event to promote better commuting and recreational cycling conditions in and around New Orleans. This promises to be an exciting and action-packed weekend. Please download the flier and look at the wide range of activities that are going on from Bike Polo, a BBQ, Movies, and more!

Saturday May 9th, MBC Bicycle Second Line!

 

The first ever bicyle second line! On Saturday May 9th we're going to have a bicycle second line starting at 10:30, complete with a band!

March 21st-22nd, MBC at Audobon Zoo's Earth Fest

 

Come stop by Audobon Zoo sometime this weekend to check out Earth Fest, where MBC will have a booth set up between 10am-4pm. You can become a member on the spot, learn about bicycle related advocacy that is occuring in New Orleans, and chat with some fellow bike enthusiasts. We hope to see you at the zoo!
